's-Hertogenbosch, 1st of August — Dayser Energy, a specialist in destination charging solutions, today announces the launch of its operations in Germany. The company focuses specifically on installing AC charging infrastructure at locations where electric vehicle (EV) drivers stay for extended periods, such as offices, hotels, hospitals, and theme parks.
The German operations will be led by Jörg Schmidt, who has been appointed Managing Director of Dayser Germany. Schmidt brings extensive experience in the e-mobility sector and will drive Dayser’s growth in the German market.
Destination charging: a cost-effective alternative to fast charging
Unlike fast-charging stations along highways, where EV drivers quickly recharge and continue their journey, Dayser focuses on situations where vehicles are parked for several hours. This longer charging time makes it possible to use more affordable AC charging technology instead of expensive DC fast chargers.
“Destination charging is fundamentally different from fast charging,” explains Jörg Schmidt. “When someone works eight hours at the office, spends a night in a hotel, or spends the day at a hospital, there is no need for costly 150 kW fast chargers. An 11 kW or 22 kW AC charging point is perfectly sufficient and much more cost-effective for both the site owner and the EV driver.”
Growing demand for workplace and hospitality charging
With the strong growth of the German EV market – which in 2025 is showing a remarkable recovery after a temporary decline in 2024 – demand for charging solutions at destination locations is also increasing. According to recent figures from the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA), new battery electric vehicle registrations rose by 53.5% in January 2025 and by 30.8% in February, reaching a market share of 17.1%.
“More and more employers are realising that offering charging facilities at the workplace has become an important employee benefit,” says Schmidt. “For employees, this means their car is charged during the workday at favourable rates, often as part of a lease or mobility package.”
Demand for charging facilities in the hotel sector is also growing. Hotel guests value the ability to charge their vehicles overnight, allowing them to depart with a full battery the next morning.
“Another major advantage of AC charging is its gentle impact on the battery,” explains Schmidt. “Slow charging at destination locations is not only cheaper, but also better for battery longevity compared to frequent fast charging.”
Strategic timing in a growing market
Dayser’s entry into the German market is strategically timed. The number of electric vehicles in Germany continues to rise, with more than 1.65 million BEVs registered at the beginning of 2025 – an increase of 17.2%. This growth, combined with the increasing acceptance of electric mobility and the expansion of charging infrastructure, creates ideal conditions for destination charging providers.
“After the adjustment period in 2024, when government subsidies were reduced, we are now seeing the market rebound strongly under its own momentum,” says Schmidt. “EV drivers are becoming increasingly cost-conscious and are looking for cost-effective alternatives to expensive fast charging. This is exactly where we fit in.”
Full service for site owners
Dayser offers a complete service for site owners – from installation to maintenance and operation of the charging infrastructure. The company handles all technical and administrative aspects, allowing hotels, office buildings, and other locations to focus on their core business.
“Our customers don’t need to worry about the complexity of charging infrastructure,” Schmidt emphasises. “We take care of everything – from permits and installation to 24/7 support and billing for end users.”
